Guide: Resources for Making the Most of This Quarantine
Wow. What a different world we find ourselves in these past few weeks. First and foremost, I am sending you love and happy+healthy vibes and hope you are all doing very well. As we hunker down at home during this unprecedented turn of events, I thought I’d share with you some resources to help declutter both your minds and your homes.
Before + After: Double-Duty Work Space in this Office
Our client, Shenae Grimes-Beech, uses one of the rooms in her home as both an office and closet, where she films a lot of her videos! Although she had just done a decluttering session, and got rid of 12 bags of clothes!!, she wanted the space to be more conducive to work in and hide some of the clothing. Our ultimate goal was to reduce the visual clutter in the space caused by having all the clothing on freestanding racks, and shoes out on stacking shoe shelves.
Before + After: Hiding Toys and Taking Back the Family Room
The overall goal of this project was to allow for kids to have toys in the main living space without taking away too much from the grown up put together feel. It is completely understandable that some kids toys should be kept in the room that is used most often. By putting a little intention into the furniture choices and decor in the room, we worked with this client to hide many of to toys.
Before + After: Reorganizing and Repurposing Functional Closets
Believe it or not, many of the closets and rods in older homes don’t properly fit a normal sized hanger. This often causes the closet doors to not close all the way, in some cases causes closet doors to fall off, and overall is just a pain when trying to hang your clothes.
Before + After Closet Makeover:
We are all for updating your space and creating a more functional atmosphere, without having to buy any new products. For this client, we assisted with organizing decluttering of her walk-in closet and master bathroom. We used items she already owned to create great systems for her to use daily.
Before + After: Transforming an Extra Bedroom for Guests
Our clients had rarely been using their extra bedroom, and it was not set up for any long term guests. As they were preparing to host a foreign exchange student, they enlisted our help! They wanted to be able to provider her with a place to hang her clothes, more functionality and storage in the bathroom, while still being able to use a part of the closet for winter coats and other household necessities.
Composed Living Holiday Party
We recently hosted our first annual CL holiday party! Planned by Robin of RMBO Collective, who does the most gorgeous events. It all started over oyster+rose happy hour with Robin. Elsa told her how much she loved hosting, but that she never really gets to have fun until basically everyone leaves and then can finally have a moment for a glass of wine and to chat with the remaining guests. Challenge accepted!
Before + After: Designing a Pinterest-Worthy Pantry
Our client wanted a pinterest-worthy pantry - and we were so excited to help her achieve it!
Some of the biggest struggles for her pantry before were that she was having an issue with bugs making their way into opened food packages, as well as not being able to see what they have so they would buy more. This was causing them to buy extra of food items they didn’t need, and then food would expire before they could get to it.
Before + After: Closet Decluttering and Donating
For this project, we did a decluttering session to get rid of anything that wasn’t being worn, and find a home for everything that we wanted to keep! It was completed in 6 hours and no products were purchased.
Before + After: Sisters Growing into New Bedrooms
Our client decided to transition her two daughters from separate bedrooms (one was nursery) into one shared bedroom and a playroom. We redesigned both closets - the bedroom closet now contains both sisters’ clothing, while the playroom closet holds toys and their American Girl Doll collections.
