Before + After: Double-Duty Work Space in this Office

Getting rid of the visual clutter of the closet to create a conducive work space!

Our client, Shenae Grimes-Beech, uses one of the rooms in her home as both an office and closet, where she films a lot of her videos! Although she had just done a decluttering session, and got rid of 12 bags of clothes!!, she wanted the space to be more conducive to work in and hide some of the clothing. Our ultimate goal was to reduce the visual clutter in the space caused by having all the clothing on freestanding racks, and shoes out on stacking shoe shelves.

For this project, we purchased the three IKEA Pax Wardrobe units, along with shelves, drawers, and accessory organizers for those units. We also purchased IKEA Billy bookcases with glass doors for the shoe storage. We kept her existing vanity and mirror, but we did move it to a different area in the room.

Project Breakdown:

  • Products: $1410 for shelving and bookcases
