Fall Crafts for the Whole Family

Fall Crafts for the Whole Family

If you love DIY, crafting, and getting creative- then fall is the perfect season to fill your home with homemade warmth and color. These crafts cater to any skill level and allow your imagination to take the lead.

1.A Fall Wreath Anyone Can Make

All you need is a hot glue gun, a wreath base, and the faux florals of your choice! For fall, I recommend getting a woven base wreath from your local craft store. Then you can take the greenery of your choice and glue on to the base. Consider adding pops of ribbon, pinecones, or mini pumpkins to make it extra festive.

If you don’t want to use a hot glue gun, you can use a flower foam base instead. These allow you to simply stick the stems into the base. This will require all of your faux plants to have stems, versus single leaves or petals.

2. A Dollar Store Vase that looks Expensive

Find a vase at your local dollar or thrift store. You can use a spray paint of your choice to cover up the entire inside and outside of the vase. To make it extra personalized, add either a vinyl sticker or a stencil to paint your perfect fall phrase. Make it extra special with a burlap bow on top and finish with dried fall florals inside!

3. Potpourri from Dried Seasonal Fruits

Cute and smells delicious! First, wash and slice your fruit (such as oranges, apples, persimmons, or figs). Set your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and lay the fruit down on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake for 2-4 hours until the fruit is dried and crisp. Take the fruit out and allow to cool.

Once everything is cool to the touch, mix in a bowl with some fresh pine cones and cinnamon sticks. Place around your home and enjoy!

4. A String of Leaves with Fabric Scraps

Grab some twine from your local craft store and pick up some fun, zaggy scissors. For the actual leaves you can use scrap fabric or multi-colored construction paper. Cut the leaves with the patterned scissors to give them variety. Remember to include stems! You may also find pre-cut leaves if you prefer. Hot glue your leaves on to the twine rope and you are done!
