If you love throwing a good party as much as we do, you will know that not only can buying supplies for a party get pricey, but also can produce a lot of trash and waste. Today we are sharing some of our favorite products to help you have the party of your dreams, while being more sustainable.

Sustainable Outdoor Dinner Party Tips

Dinnerware Options

I love outdoor dinnerware that is made partially out of bamboo fiber- there are so many fun options to choose from these days that aren't just plastic, and are still really durable and safe for outdoors. These ones are great and made with bamboo and melamine - we love that you can buy them individually! Another set we love is slightly more affordable, comes in a pack of 4 and is made of bamboo and coffee grounds!

If buying a bunch of plates isn’t in the budget or the guest list is too large to use plates that aren’t disposable, we know of the best next thing… compostable, biodegradable palm leaf plates! We love this brand, Chic Leaf, because they are 100% natural and zero waste. They collect naturally fallen leaves from Areca Palm Trees, wash and sun-dry them, and are pressed with a heat mould. No chemicals, dyes or glues are used!

Cloth Napkins

We love using cloth napkins for all occasions - it elevates the moment and is sustainable, and just feels nicer than paper. I either opt for white (easy to clean! or a pattern that will disguise any stains, just in case.

Ambiance!

Solar lanterns add ambience without needing any electricity or batteries. We love this two-pack of lanterns! Another great option are these solar powered string lights for your backyard! They truly help to transform your space! Plus, they are just about the same price as the kinds that you plug in, and would save you money long term by using no electricity. Win-win!

Herb Garden

Create your own herb garden (gather a group of various sizes and shapes of terracotta pots and plant all your favorite herbs!) Not only will it look and smell beautiful, but you can use the herbs garnish serving platters, cocktails, etc. You can also pot herbs into small terracotta pots and use them as a sustainable centerpiece on your dinner table!
