The Before + After Series | Pantry + Laundry Room

Organizing Our Most Frequently Used - and Neglected - Living Spaces

Sometimes it’s our most frequently used living spaces that get neglected the most when it comes to organization. They often become a place of organized chaos, but with a few tips and a quick “makeover” these rooms can become much more efficient!

For this project, we helped assist with some organizational tools that were already in place in both our client’s pantry and laundry room, and also offered some new ones as well!

Let’s start with the pantry. This pantry already had some good practices in place, but we created categoies so that it was easy to see what was in stock, what was missing, or what was getting low. We created a backstock behind sections since the cabinets were so deep (amazing!). The total cost of the products for the pantry was about $200. We used light colored labels to brighten up the space, and added a few more airtight food storage bins for decanting. Eliminating visual clutter was our main goal, because it is so important!

Next we worked on the laundry room. We went through all of the cleaning products got rid of any that were not being used. We then created logical sections for the items, like guest linens, cleaning products, etc. We did not purchase any products for this space, and repurposed all the bins that the client previously owned.

Project Breakdown:

  • Products: $200 for new labels, additional pantry storage products

  • 2 organizers for 8 hours

We did this entire project in one day, and we even touched up the kitchen drawers a bit too!
