Tips and Tricks
If you are someone that loves decanting your items into jars as much as we do, you’ve probably ran into the problem of backstock. Maybe all your pasta won’t fit in your jar or you bought a different type of cereal this time and half of the box doesn’t fit into your usual canister. There are a few solutions for this!! You can: store the excess on a separate shelf, out of the way of daily use (think top shelf or very bottom shelf of pantry) or you can also store these items behind the decanted items. It's important that you keep all back stock items in one space so that you always know where to look before heading to the grocery store. Large baskets are great for containing these items while reducing visual clutter.
Don’t forget! If you are decanting, be sure to label your jars with the expiration date of the food you're storing!
