Ideas for Date Night (or Date Day)
Ideas for Date Night (or Date Day)
Date night with Chad is something I prioritize and look forward to. It’s something that keeps our relationship alive and helps us be able to prioritize each other’s happiness while keeping fun in the forefront of our relationship. I’m always on the hunt for new activities we can do together and I’d love to share some with you just in time for Valentine’s Day - but these are great year round for you and your partner, or you and a friend!
Cooking together is one of my absolute favorite couple activities. The Date Night Cookbook was written by a couple named Ned and Ariel with masterful recipes mixed with relationship anecdotes. A review from their website:
“One of a kind! Ned and Ariel Fulmer have created a culinary masterpiece filled with dishes and drinks perfect for any stage of a relationship. I came for the amazing recipes but stayed for the heartwarming and hilarious stories.”
– ROSANNA PANSINO, creator of Nerdy Nummies
A paint date! Pick out a ceramic piece and allow your creative juices to flow! In L.A. there’s locations in Studio City, Beverly Hills, Encino, Santa Monica, Glendale, Pasadena, Calabasas, and in surrounding areas. Or try their to go kits to paint in your own home!
This is such a cute idea. These gardens in Pasadena do afternoon teas with finger food and pastries and can also do flower arrangements. Schedule a Valentine’s Tea with a specialized menu all throughout the month of Feb!
Food is obviously the best love language. So, what better way to spend the day than going to a food festival and trying something from every stand?? Okay, maybe that’s a little overboard, but trust me, you’ll want to get your fill when you see the amazing options of incredible food Smorgasburg has every week!! They also have a small selection of art, jewelry, clothes, and other vendors. Plus there’s a beer garden. They’re open every Sunday from 10am to 4pm at Row DTLA in the arts district. I recommend getting there on the earlier side because some vendors sell out of items. Don’t forget your sunscreen! It gets toasty out there! Garage parking is free.
Two Bit Circus is truly a blast! A level up from Chuck E. Cheese, you can do arcade games, VR experiences, and escape rooms. They’ve got a Valentine’s special for 2-4 people going on all throughout the month of February!
A different take on the classic movie night. At different parks throughout LA, street food plays your favorite cinematic classics up on the big screen. Bring your own picnic, or indulge in the food trucks they’ll have posted up at the event! Don’t forget a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on!
I love, love, love Zeel. Their in-home massages are just amazing and affordable. Book a couples massage and two masseuses will come to your home. Just make sure you clear the space for two massage tables. Perfect for a lazy morning date.
This place is such a blast and perfect for double or triple dates. Reserve a lane in advance and you can have up to 6 people on your lane. Check their calendar as they often have live music too!
An art exhibit and immersive experience combined. They even have a special date night package. The same company is also opening an immersive Frida Kahlo exhibit starting in March!
Mulholland Scenic Overlook
A classic in my mind. There is nothing better than going to one of the many lookouts on Mulholland and just enjoying the view together. Get out of the car and lean on a ledge, look out at the sky while still in your car, or camp out with a blanket and a picnic. Just be sure to clear out before 9pm because the park rangers will kick you out!
Long Time No See Comedy has some of the best stand up lineups in LA right now. Their shows happen at different locations around the city and are always a blast. Text them at 323-622-7273 to get on their list for discounted tickets and even free guest list sometimes!
