Our Fave Outdoor Storage Solutions

Our Fave Outdoor Storage Solutions

It’s summertime, and I wanna be spending allll of my time in the backyard, by the pool, and in the sun. Anyone else relate? Having an outdoor space that is both incredibly relaxing and functional is of utmost importance to me. Having outdoor storage is essential for all of those miscellaneous items that don’t really make sense anywhere in the house: gardening supplies and tools, grilling accessories, and all those outdoor kids toys that are usually big and clunky. Let me show you my faves!

Storage Cubes

Love an outdoor storage cube! So versatile for hiding everything from kids toys, to extra party supplies and beyond! I love love love this cute cube from Ballard Designs. It’s on wheels and is part of a whole incredibly adorable furniture set if you’re in the market - I mean, look at this table! Obsessed!

Side Tables

I love a multi-use piece for the outdoors. A side table that doubles as storage? Genius! Check out this wood and aluminum one from West Elm. The top slides off, so you can grab a blanket out before using the table to rest your morning coffee or tea on it.

Sheds

If you need storage for some larger items that won’t fit in your garage, a shed is the way to go. This resin shed is super functional and durable. This wood shed is great for storing gardening supplies, or even party supplies! Did I mention that it’s soooo cute??

Racks

Ah, the old faithful. We use stainless steel racks in many spaces, namely garages and offices, but they also function well outside on the side of the house. These are great for storing larger tools, coolers, and weathertight bins full of outdoor toys or pool accessories.

Storage Bench

We've had one of these storage benches from Target for years - I love that it doubles as seating, and is large enough for us to toss all our pool toys and noodles in, no problem. When we are hosting an outdoor party, I drape a cute blanket over the top and add some throw cushions!

Coffee Table

I personally really love wicker outdoor furniture because you just KNOW it’s gonna be totally fine whatever weather is thrown its way. This coffee table from Overstock has a suuuuper spacious compartment for storage when you lift the top up. It’s the perfect place to keep any covers you have for your outdoor furniture or a place to tuck your outdoor cushions when its raining.

Bar Cart

An absolute necessity for hosting! But, a bonus if it’s spacious. One of our team members got this one from Overstock. We love it because there’s plenty of room down below to replenish whatever you’re serving up top!

DIY

Your backyard is FILLED with opportunity for creativity and DIY projects. Elbow Room by Clutter came up with the most amazing and unique list of DIY projects for the outdoors. They make such good use of repurposing what you already have, yes sustainability! I’m obsessed with all of them, but my faves are #1: making a bookcase and outdoor storage bench and #13: using a wood pallet to store pool toys! Seriously, read through them all. 1220
