Where to Give this Giving Tuesday
Where to Give this Giving Tuesday
It’s Giving Tuesday tomorrow, and here in Los Angeles there are so many amazing non-profits that would love your support. We’ve done plenty of research to make sure your time and resources will go exactly where you want them to. Check out some of our non-profit partners below for ideas on how you can get involved in your community.
1. A Sense of Home. If you’ve worked with us, chances are high that any items you donated, have ended up here. A Sense of Home strives to prevent homelessness by creating first-ever homes for youth aging out of foster care with donated furniture and home goods. 50% of those struggling with homelessness are former foster youth. The homeless crisis can only end through prevention. Support them by donating items you no longer need, buying items off of their wishlist, or support in sponsoring a new home for someone in need.
2. Qualified. At Qualified they empower survivors of sex trafficking, and those at risk, to identify and pursue their dream vocation through mentoring programs, life skills classes and career training workshops, creating the path for a life of financial and physical independence. Support them by volunteering as a mentor, workshop facilitator or occupational therapists. Are you a local business that would partner with them? And, you can also donate here.
3. Downtown Women’s Center. The Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) envisions a Los Angeles with every woman housed and on a path to personal stability. Its mission is to end homelessness for women in greater Los Angeles through housing, wellness, employment, and advocacy. If you have de-cluttered recently, check to see if any items are on their wishlist and schedule a drop off! They are also always seeking on-site volunteers and will happily accept contributions here.
Of course, there are many more options for you to get involved this holiday season. You can check out even more of our partners here. And, is there a non-profit we should be partnered with not listed on our site? Email hello@composedliving.com and we’ll look into supporting!
